DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 328 begins at US 20 approximately two miles south of the City of Galva, and travels northerly into the City of Galva.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑328‑0 (4), between Ida County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 328 from US 20 near the S ¼ Corner Section 35‑T89N‑R39W north to the south corporation line of the City of Galva to county jurisdiction on December 19, 1980. The remaining portion of Iowa 328 in the City of Galva should be re-designated as unsigned Iowa 943.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 328 in Ida County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 328 and its extensions in Ida County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 35‑T89N‑R39W (junction of US 20); thence northerly following substantially the center section line of Sections 35 and 26‑T89N‑R39W to the south corporation line of the City of Galva, connecting with an unnamed street.

Galva:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the intersection of First Street.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 328 in Ida County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 328 begins at junction US 20 approximately 2 miles south of Galva, and travels northerly terminating in Galva, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 328 and its extensions in Ida County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 35‑T89N‑R39W (junction of US 20); thence northerly following substantially the center section line of Sections 35 and 26‑T89N‑R39W to the south corporation line of the City of Galva, connecting with an unnamed street.

Galva:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the intersection of First Street.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 328 in Ida County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
